Thousands of pounds saved restoring a water-damaged ceiling
A roof leak at a high-end property in central London had caused extensive damage to a valuable ceiling made of intricate wood panelling.
To replace the ceiling would cost the customer thousands of pounds and wouldn’t prove cost effective. The repair job we were instructed to carry out was complicated further by the positioning of a bespoke glass staircase directly under the damaged ceiling, making access to the area awkward and more challenging.
The Solution
Our PASMA trained technicians constructed a specialised staircase scaffold enabling easier access to the damaged ceiling and fully protected the area, including the staircase. We colour matched the ceiling panels onsite and removed the damaged wood and carried out detailed repairs to the wood, ensuring the grain and colour blended effortlessly into the rest of the ceiling. After this, all of the ceiling was sealed, protected and left to dry.
The Outcome
The ceiling was triumphantly restored to its original condition with no tell-tale marks of repair or renovation. The customer saved thousands of pounds by using our advanced repair techniques, eliminating the need to replace the large and valuable wooden panel ceiling.
